When my eyes are too tired for the quilting in the the previous post I hand piece this one.
It occured to me when I laid out all the blocks for this photograph that there must be miles of stitches in a quilt. That would be a long road to follow if we thought about it at the beginning, wouldn't it? But I don't!:)
I start with one block, then one block leads to another and I dont think about the magnitude of it all until I start piecing the blocks together. Suddenly those long seams seem interminable. And you?
:) It's like life itself.. One step at a time. Love your take on piecing too. I love the calm and soothing nature of this quilt.
ReplyDeleteI've just barely started learning to hand piece, but I have hand quilted for years. I try not to think about what's in front of me when I get started, but sometimes at the end I find myself completely overwhelmed with the amount of time I have put into a certain quilt.:)
